Volvo V40 range gets new Drive-E engines

From May this year Volvo will update its V40 model, equipping the premium Swedish hatchback with its range of high-efficiency Drive-E engines and Volvo’s latest eight-speed automatic gearbox. This means the revised V40 line-up now offers an impressive performance to efficiency ratio, with 190hp on offer in the D4 turbodiesel variant, returning a claimed 74.3mpg combined with 99g/km CO2 when mated to the six-speed manual. Mitsubishi has released the fastest Evo in the UK market - the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400 And now it’s getting really serious. The 2.0 litre, turbocharged MIVEC engine in the FQ-400 will propel this four-door saloon to 60mph in around 3.7 seconds. Toyota revealed the FT-CH concept at the 2010 NAIAS. Showcasing a possible future vehicle wearing the Prius badge, the four seat concept was created at ED2, Toyota's European design center in Nice, France. Measuring 3886mm in length, 1740mm wide and 1397mm tall, the FT-CH is 559mm less in overall length and has a wheelbase that is 152mm shorter than that of the Prius, but it is only 13mm narrower.
