Porsche at Geneva: Porsche 918 Spyder +Video
Thu, 04 Mar 2010The Porsche 918 Spyder arrives on the floor at Geneva As we said the other day when we reported on the Porsche 918 Spyder reveal at Geneva, we really didn’t see this coming. We all know that Porsche are playing with Hybrid tech on their road cars – the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid is here and the Porsche Panamera Hybrid on the way – and have even had a play with a hybrid track car – the Porsche 911 GT3 R. But a Hypercar – a likely replacement for the Porsche Carrera GT – is a real surprise.
Porsche 918 Spyder races toward production
Mon, 19 Mar 2012OK, let's put the usual arguments to rest first: The Porsche 918 Spyder is going to be even faster than the Carrera GT in a straight line. That's based on Porsche's own computer simulations in anticipation of the production version of the gasoline-electric-powered 918 Spyder, which is due to roll off a dedicated line within a decommissioned paint shop at Porsche's Zuffenhausen, Germany, headquarters next year. The claimed 0-to-62-mph time is 2.8 seconds; 0-to-124 mph is 8.9 seconds, and top speed should be about 202 mph, thanks in part to series of active aerodynamic functions, including a multistage rear wing.
2013 Aston Martin Vanquish in the wild on video
Thu, 14 Jun 2012The new 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish – Project Am 310 from Villa D’Este – has been caught on video in Italy in production guise. The story of the replacement for the Aston Martin DBS – which we now know is to be the new Aston Martin Vanquish – has been playing out over the last month or so. We reported at the start of May that the DBS name would be dropped and then exclusively revealed that it would debut at Villa D’Este as the Project Am 310 to try and mop up the honours in the Concept Category (it actually lost out to the Alfa 4C).
