Land Rover starts voyage of Discovery with Virgin Galactic (2014)

By Phil McNamara First Official Pictures 15 April 2014 09:30 Land Rover took a giant leap in New York last night, unveiling a concept car vision of the new Discovery family and announcing a partnership with Virgin Galactic. The Discovery was revealed on the deck of the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier alongside Virgin's SpaceShipTwo, the rocketship charged with making space tourism a commercial reality. Land Rover's SUVs will be the taxi of choice for budding, wealthy astronauts, attending Virgin's New Mexico base for training and space flights.

Lexus GS-F to get LF-A V10

Lexus are said to be preparing a GS-F with the V10 from the LF-A (pictured) There have been rumours that Lexus are going to produce a range-topping GS-F for some time. But with car makers looking at downsizing and trying their best to stick smaller and more economical engines in its cars it seemed the possibility of an M5 competing Lexus GS were going nowhere soon. JCB sets new diesel land speed record

During the first run along the Bonneville Salt Flats course on 22 August, the 1500bhp Dieselmax touched 324.24mph.The pit crew then turned the streamliner around on a turntable and prepped it for the second run. On the return, JCB's diesel-powered racer hit 333.339mph.
