Chassis bind is your enemy if you want accurate, consistent setups. It's most often caused by front wheel camber as you lift the car to put it on scales. When you let it down the front wheels can't move sideways to return to normal position. This causes a chassis bind and affects your wheel weights. It may not be great and it could go unnoticed, but it is there. And it will affect your readings and setups - and how your car handles.

To eliminate this we have built SideSliders™into two of the roll-offs (for independent rear suspensions). This allows the front wheels to move sideways to their normal position. And every change you make is reflected accurately and consistently. You will run your best week after week. And you will have more time to practice since you won't be 'chasing your setup'.

Kia Car Design Award winners announced in Beijing

Wed, 30 May 2012

The first Kia Car Design Award was successfully concluded on 20 May in Beijing, with Chinese student Li Bai being presented the prize for first place by Seon-Ho Youn, Vice President of Kia Design Center. Bai, from Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, became the first ever winner of the award for his Kia Rhyme Concept, described by Seon-Ho Youn as "a perfect combination of design and Chinese culture." Bai's luxury sports car concept was inspired by Chinese philosophy, which can be seen in the headlamp design that reflects the traditional Chinese Ba gua, or ‘Eight Diagrams'. These are eight diagrams used in Taoist cosmology that represent the fundamental principles of reality through three lines, each line either 'broken' or 'unbroken', representing either yin or yang.

Chevrolet Cruze lands in the UK

Tue, 10 Mar 2009

GM is having its problems, as we’ve chronicled almost endlessly, but they are pushing ahead with the launch of their Focus-sized offering, the Chevrolet Cruse, around the world. So far it has been launched in the Far East and Australia, and now we’re getting it in the UK from the summer. But oddly, it’s not going to arrive in the US until next year.

Budget 2011: Fuel duty CUT & tuppence for potholes

Wed, 23 Mar 2011

Motorists Budget 2011 No once expected huge give-aways in George Osborne’s second budget – especially as we now have cruise missiles to pay for in Libya – but the hope was that the Chancellor would at least address the inexcorable rise in the cost of fuel. Which he has – sort of. Fuel was due to increase by around 5p a litre next week if he’d left Labour’s fuel duty escalator in place.
