Make your XR650R or XR400R safe to ride again, replace your foot peg bolts before they break.  The right foot peg bolts are a well known weak point on all model years of the Honda XR650R and XR400R.

The constant "loosening" of the two right foot peg bolts is due to the low quality stock bolts bending and stretching while riding (thread lock does not fix this problem).

Stock bolt failures have been due to the head of the bolt breaking off, not the threads pulling out.  The bolt gets weak after riding and the head snaps off.  It is possible to "EZ out" the broken off studs after the head breaks off without causing any damage to the frame threads as illustrated in the picture below.

The stock bolts are a standard soft grade (with a low tensile strength) also, they do not engage the full length of the frame threads, these new replacement bolts are much stronger and are 50mm long which are slightly longer than stock to engage more threads.

Metric Socket Cap Screws

12.9 is the highest grade metric bolt available. I have been able to successfully and easily replace my stock bolts with these high quality 12.9 Grade 50mm bolts.  This high quality 12.9 Grade alloy bolt is virtually impossible to find in the correct length, width and thread, when I finally located some, I was forced to buy them in bulk quantity, as a result, I have extra sets of bolts available to you.

I'll send you two 50mm 12.9 grade alloy, black finish, socket head direct replacement bolts (slightly longer than stock which engage more threads).  You will love knowing your foot peg is not going to break off!

The XR400R  has the same foot peg bolts as the XR650R, I am unaware of other models that may use the same bolts.

*You cannot find these bolts in your local Hardware, Automotive, ATV store,  if you could they would cost about $5 each*

Range Rover Evoque – engine & model detail

Wed, 22 Sep 2010

The Range Rover Evoque Dynamic Actually, we haven’t really got bored with the drawn out reveal for the Range Rover Evoque (although we might be fed up by the time we get our hands on one next summer). And despite our snobby reservations about Mrs B getting her hands on the interior, even that seems to be a positive. Certainly according to Land Rover’s feedback.

As well as revealing the future design direction for Mitsubishi’s styling, and potential new niches for its growing SUV range, the crossovers demonstrate the latest iteration of Mitsubishi’s plug-in hybrid push. There’s a full-size SUV design, plus a coupe-styled brother and a new MPV.

New Small Jaguar – Not before 2016

Sun, 22 May 2011

New Small Jaguar - but not before a new XF We’ve discussed the replacement for the Jaguar X-Type – dubbed the New Small Jaguar – almost endlessly over the last year or two. Which with both the Jaguar XF and the Jaguar XJ replacing cars that were good but really didn’t sell, and turning them in to contenders for the top-spot in their sectors, a replacement for the X-Type is of huge interest. We had thought – in fact Jaguar had thought – that the plan  to replace the X-Type was a high priority.
