Lower unit looks to be in fair to good shape, no cracks in housing. Some oxidation on exposed surfaces due to paint loss. Skeg has taken some bumps but is mostly intact. Could use some paint.
Brand:Johnson Evinrude Manufacturer Part Number:393216

Here is a used lower unit from a 1984 Johnson 150hp freshwater outboard motor, model J150TXCRD.  OEM part number for the lower unit assembly is 0393216.  Was used on Evinrude and Johnson V6 models from 1983 to 1985.  Pretty sure it will fit other years of crossflow V6s as well.   Housing is in fair to good shape but could use a coat of paint.  Skeg has taken some bumps and housing has some oxidation on the exposed areas.  No pitting, cracks, breaks or welds.  Unit turns over as it should, and shifts gears.  Motor it came off of was an extra long shaft model for 25-inch transoms.  Driveshaft measures approximately 26-1/4 inches from the upper face of the gear case housing to the tip of the driveshaft.  Oil has been drained for shipping.   Oil looked pretty good and I didn't notice any evidence of water intrusion.  It is unknown as to when the water pump was last serviced, so it is recommended that the buyer install a new water pump prior to use.  Lower unit looks to be in usable shape, but due to age, it is being offered AS IS for PARTS ONLY with no warranty expressed or implied.  Please ask all questions prior to bidding. Buyer will pay actual shipping on approximately 70 lbs. packed weight in the U.S.  Payment to be made via PayPal and is to be received within 7 days of auction close. Please see my other auctions for more late model outboard parts.

MINI celebrates 100 years of car production in Oxford

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

MINI will be celebrating a century of car production in Oxford on 28th March 2013, 100 years since the first Bullnose Morris Oxford was produced. It’s 100 years since the first Bullnose Morris Oxford rolled out on 28th March 1903, since when 11,655,000 cars have been built – with as many as 28,000 people employed in its heyday – and even Tiger Moth planes and Iron Lungs built alongside 80,000 repairs to Spitfires and Hurricanes during WWII. What is now MINI’s Plant Oxford was founded by William Morris – and Morris Motors kept control until 1952 – and has been owned and run by BMC, then British Motor Holdings (when Jaguar arrived), British Leyland (when Leyland Trucks, Triumph and Rover joined), nationalisation in the 1970s saw a variety of names, Rover Group arrived in 1986 and was subsequently privatised and sold in 1994 to BMW.

Big Willie Robinson: 1942-2012

Mon, 21 May 2012

Big Willie Robinson was as much legend and myth as flesh and bone, and at six feet, six inches and weighing 300 pounds, with 21-inch biceps and a 58-inch chest, there was a lot of flesh and bone. Robinson was more than a drag racer, promoter and sanctioning-body president. He was the man who used the power of horsepower to unite people of all colors and creeds under the banner of drag racing, once saying at a race, “Ain't no colors here, it's all just engines.” As the founder and president of the National and International Brotherhood of Street Racers, he used racing to bring the races together.
