Brand:Johnson Evinrude Manufacturer Part Number:0383885

Here is a used lower unit from a 1969 Evinrude 115hp freshwater outboard motor, model 115983E.  OEM part number for the lower unit assembly is 0383885.  Was used on Evinrude and Johnson 85 and 115 hp V4 models from 1969 to 1970, and may fit 1971 models as well using the electro-hydraulic style lower units.  Housing is in fair to good shape but could use a coat of paint.  Skeg has taken some bumps but is pretty much intact.  No oxidation, pitting, cracks, breaks or welds.  Unit turns over as it should, and shifts gears when bench tested.  Wiring is intact with original scissor connectors.  Driveshaft measures approximately 21-3/4 inches from the upper face of the gear case housing to the tip of the driveshaft.  Oil has been drained for shipping.   Oil was a little dark, but otherwise looked pretty good and I didn't notice any evidence of water intrusion.  It is unknown as to when the water pump was last serviced, so it is recommended that the buyer install a new water pump prior to use.  Lower unit looks to be in usable shape, but due to age, it is being offered AS IS for PARTS ONLY with no warranty expressed or implied.  Please ask all questions prior to bidding. Buyer will pay actual shipping on approximately 60 lbs. packed weight in the U.S.  Payment to be made via PayPal and is to be received within 7 days of auction close. Please see my other auctions for more late model outboard parts.

BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Review & Road Test (2010)

Tue, 12 Oct 2010

BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Review It comes as something of a shock to realise that the BMW 3 Series has been around for thirty five years, not least since I remember its launch and the stir it caused by offering as it did not just a stylish compact saloon car, but one which offered both prestige and performance. It was also streets ahead of what, until the 3-Series came along, we thought of as a cracking little BMW – the BMW 2002. Thirty five years is a huge amount of time in the world of cars and the 3-Series has changed out of all recognition in the intervening time.
