MINI: Meet the MINI Family Video

Wed, 30 Mar 2011

MINI sends us a 2011 family video Many moan that MINI has become a parody under BMW, but the truth is that it’s just become an enormous success with BMW doing what BL tried to do a generation ago – and failed. BL failed to grow and develop the Mini beyond the 1960s, although it had success in the ’60s with badge-engineered Minis (Riley Elf, Wolsely Hornet), Mini Coopers and Countrymans, and even a grown-up Mini – the Austin/Morris 1100. So BMW are really only carrying on what BL did in the ’60s, just in spades.

Frankfurt 2011: 2012 Subaru XV gets unveiled

Thu, 15 Sep 2011

2012 Subaru XV arrives on the Frankfurt stage We did moan – which we have been known to, from time to time – about the tease for the launch of the 2012 Subaru XV at Frankfurt. We moaned because we couldn’t see the point. We couldn’t see the point in Subaru teasing the XV with art photos, particularly when those photos showed a production XV which looked exactly like the concept XV.

Range Rover Evoque: ‘Spy’ shots in London

Which was exactly our sentiment when we got a Tweet from Land Rover pointing us towards ‘Spy’ photos of the Evoque which purport to be snapped whilst the Evoque was out in London – perhaps on a secret photo shoot? Anyway, that’s what we thought when we saw the four photos at the bottom shoved on to YouTube.
