Used on Lake Superior for 4 seasons in a semi-enclosed bridge i.e., fairly well protected form the elements.
Brand:Lowrance Manufacturer Part Number:HDS8 Gen2

HDS 8 Gen 2 Includes power / GPS cable and manuals as shown. Purchased new in 2012. This is a good unit. I had it coupled with a through-hull transducer and could track bottom in 900’ of water (Lake Superior) at 28MPH. It was also coupled to a Lowrance LSS-2 module for StructureScan. Beautiful! I upgraded my ancient radar with a separate display to a Simrad 4G. The HDS8 is supposed to support that radar but I was told that when using the radar overlay feature I would be happier upgrading to the latest Simrad display. I’d keep the HDS8 for backup but need to sell it to help offset the cost of the upgrades.

Its template was a sea dweller from tropical latitudes: Ostracion Cubicus - more commonly known as the boxfish. Despite its unusual-looking shape, the fish is extremely aerodynamic and can therefore move using a minimal amount of energy.

Saab 1947-2009: GM 'will close Saab'

Fri, 18 Dec 2009

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 18 December 2009 20:33 It's a sad day for Saabphiles, as GM announced – one week to the day before Christmas – that it has failed to find a buyer for Saab. It will begin winding down the Saab operation immediately. There had been a glimmer hope for Saab earlier this month, as supercar maker Spyker stepped in as a possible suitor after similarly small sports car specialist Koenigsegg walked away from a potential deal in November 2009.But GM admitted it could not viably sell Saab to Spyker – and no other bidders were forthcoming.
