These cranks are designed by our engineers, and rough machined to our specification on 4340 material forgings overseas. All finish work and quality control operations are performed in Callie's facility.

Callies in house solid modeling abilities provide a great advantage in product development. Starting with a clean sheet of paper, Callies design engineers created forging dies that result in a near net forging. Beginning with properly placed counterweights that not only improve balance but reduce bearing loads, every aspect of these highly stressed components has been analyzed. Our forgings are rough machined in a process that includes double stress relief operations that make these crankshafts dimensionally stable.

Compstar cranks are deep nitride hardened, and are ideal for abusive dirt track environments. All rod journals are drilled and counterweights are profiled for piston clearance. Dodge is dropping its fastest, most powerful small car for the 2010 model year. The Dodge Caliber SRT4--a turbocharged, muscle-bound version of the Caliber--is being discontinued. "The Dodge Caliber SRT4 was planned for a limited production run in the highly competitive sport compact market segment," Dodge said in a statement.

It was a fitting farewell to one of the most audacious Lamborghinis ever built. A group of the most iconic V12 cars ever to put rubber to asphalt gathered at the factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy, for a special exhibition before escorting the last Murcielago, an LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, out of the Lamborghini Museum in a symbolic last ride. The 350GT was in attendance at the event, as was the futuristic Miura, a Countach and the fire-breathing Diablo, among others.

VW halts merger talk with Porsche

Volkswagen on Sunday slammed the brakes on merger talks with Porsche, just before the first meeting to discuss ways to bring all of the automakers' brands together under one entity. VW said that it made the move because it believes that Porsche doesn't have a solid plan for the merger. VW and Porsche announced the plan to hold merger talks on May 6.
