Manufacturer's Description:

Lunati Signature series connecting rods are the highest quality rods you can purchase for your race engine. They are forged from 4340 aircraft quality steel and CNC machined using the latest technology. After machining each unit is shot peened, magnafluxed and sonic tested to ensure that the material is free from impurities and defects. The rods are fully deburred so machining and further deburring is unnecessary, and the threads are back cut and radiused above the bolt and have large radii on both the large and small ends.

Signature Series Rods feature Ampco 45 bushings and file hardened locators, as well as 7/16" x 1.550" ARP 2000 cap screws. Sets are weight matched to ± 1.0 grams.

Churchill’s Land Rover sells for £129,000

Mon, 22 Oct 2012

A Land Rover presented to Sir Winston Churchill on his 80th birthday has sold at auction for £129,000. Sir Winston Spencer Churchill, probably the greatest Prime Minister the UK has ever had, was 80 in 1954, prompting Rover to present the great man with a custom Land Rover so he could be chauffeured round his Chartwell Estate. The Series 1 Land Rover came complete with an extra wide passenger seat, big, padded centre armrest and leather grab handle and had the registration UKE 80 which may (or may not) have referred to Churchill’s age and ‘United Kingdom Empire.

Jeep Renegade Concept

Fri, 23 Nov 2007

Chrysler has revealed three sketches of new concepts it is scheduled to unveil at the Detroit Auto Show in January. One of these is the Jeep Renegade Concept, a sporty B-segment-sized two-seater the automaker claims is ideally suited for the all-weather delights of off-roading and dune surfing. The design of the vehicle is a futuristic take on the existing open-topped Jeep Wrangler, featuring a cut-down speedster windshield, a roll bar, openings in the door lowers and a hose-out interior.

How Lexus execs rescued the GS sedan

Mon, 22 Aug 2011

Eighteen months ago, Toyota had all but scrapped its plans for the redesigned Lexus GS 350 sedan that was unveiled in Monterey, Calif., last week. At the time, the company was pouring engineering resources into resolving its unintended acceleration crisis and was busy changing quality and safety procedures. Plus, the GS' underwhelming sales in the United States and Europe made for a weak business case against the Mercedes E-class and BMW 5-series.
