Koenigsegg planning an entry-level car – but it’ll still cost £500k
Sat, 26 Apr 2014Koenigsegg are planning an entry-level car at half the price of the Agera R (pictured) Think of the cars that Christian von Koenigsegg has made since he started with the CC8S in 2002 and you think of them as extremes of the supercar genre; the Swedish engineering take on the bloated and massively complex Bugatti Veyron. Christian’s men in a shed in Sweden have gone on to make a series of progressively quicker and more impressive supercars, through the CCR, CCX and the Agera and on to the current most extreme iteration – the Koenigsegg One:1. But it looks like Christian has decided that his ambition to create the world’s greatest hypercar leaves room for a ‘Lesser’ Koenigsegg, a car that still has innovative engineering and extreme performance but comes at a lower price.
Audi launches showrooms without cars in London
Mon, 16 Jul 2012Audi has opened its first digital showroom in London – Audi City – a fully digital showroom for Audi’s entire range near Piccadilly Circus. It’s something of a dilemma for car makers; how to sell their cars in a world that now revolves around the internet and digital access? Traditional car showrooms seem very last century, but choosing a car from a screen at home is still something many are reluctant to do.
Subaru Forester (2009): first official pictures
Thu, 27 Dec 2007By Phil McNamara First Official Pictures 27 December 2007 14:50 This is Subaru's all-new Forester estate, set to be unveiled at January's Detroit motor show. Devoted fans won't be disappointed, because the 2009 model year Forester dogmatically sticks to the Forester formula: a jacked up, four-wheel drive wagon, but with a newish look, more refinement and improved safety levels, says Subaru. Today's boxy, oldschool Volvo-look makes way for a boxy, newschool Mitsubishi Outlander-look. The lamps, grille and glasshouse are slightly more expressive than on the current car, but Subaru isn't breaking any new ground for car design. Good job, because last time that happened, the Tribeca MPV was inflicted on the world.
