Horsepower:  300 Hp at 2700 RPM

Complete Engine, with Exhaust, Engine Mount and all accessories except vacuum pump.  Baffles and hoses were replaced at overhaul.  The bad part... the engine was prop stuck in an accident that occurred in February of 1994.  The aircraft was sold to be rebuilt and never completed.  I will be parting out the aircraft.  I am selling this engine "firewall forward" less vacuum pump.  I will provide a vacuum pump core upon request (as I have tons of salvage parts).  This is a 300 Hp engine.  I have another Piper Lance and this is a solid engine with few ADs.  I ran mine well beyond TBO with no issues. This engine would be great for a replacement in your Piper Lance or Lance II and homebuilt or air boat.  I have full logbooks for this engine since factory new.  This engine was overhauled without money in mind, everything you could do was done.  Including custom paint and chromed parts. The chrome has suffered some corrosion as seen in the pictures.  The crankshaft dials at .001, well within limits and nearly damage free.  The Lycoming AD for prop strikes on this engine is quite simple and can be completed if you buy the engine for the "buy it now" price of $17,000. The AD will come with a sign-off from an A&P in the engine logbook.  Airpower lists this engine with a list price of $111,616 new price tag.... overhaul price of $43,882 with a $21,600 core value!  I am selling engine and all accessories for $4,600 under core value with all accessories, mount (damaged, needs repairs), and baffling.  The governor on this engine is over $3,000 to overhaul as I did mine about 3 months ago. This is a no brainer for anybody looking for a 300hp Lycoming engine.  One cylinder has some internal corrosion issues.  We bore scoped the engine and cylinders and all look good except one (the one with corrosion issues... the plug was finger tight).  I can have it pulled, overhauled and installed for additional fee (approx. $1,000).

Please feel free to call and ask question, (610)972-7940.  I expect this to sell fast.  I am overhauling another aircraft and need money to finish it.  So I have priced this engine to move quickly.  Type the model number in google and see Airpower's link...  I am giving this thing away!

This engine will be palletized and wrapped in plastic for free.  It will need freight shipping.  Contact me for a quote (expect $250-600) depending on how far you are from Allentown, PA.  We can crate it for $250 in a solid plywood crate.

I will sell the entire plane and engine for for the right price, call me for pics and price.  I can ship or deliver whole plane.

Engine mount and exhaust were damaged in the accident.

We have lots of great parts from the PA32R, Piper Lance II that we pulled it from.  Verifying that I have proper rear facing seats and structure for club seating.  I also have two Twin Comanches, Seneca II, Bonanza G33/F33, C172, DA20 parts from planes we have parted.  Feel free to call or message for other parts!

Goodwood Revival

Thu, 19 Jul 2007

By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 19 July 2007 02:30 The tenth Goodwood Revival, held this year from 31 August to 2 September, looks set to once again establish itself as the world’s finest historic motor racing event. The world’s only sporting event set entirely to a period theme – no vehicles produced after 1966 are allowed on the circuit and its environs throughout the weekend – this year’s Revival will be bigger and better than before, according to Lord March. “The Revival is arguably the most popular historic motor racing event in the world,” Lord March told CAR Online.

Craigslist catch: 1986 Lotus Turbo Esprit

Thu, 14 Apr 2011

For the masochistic car enthusiast--and many of us here at AutoWeek count ourselves among that breed--nothing is sure to tantalize and frustrate quite as nicely as a Lotus. Not just any Lotus, mind you, but a peaky, force-fed, emissions-saddled 1986 Turbo Esprit. The example shown here, http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/ctd/2318628863.html, appears to be a fine specimen of Giguaro's wedgy Brit, and the rear-quarter decals indicate that this is a late HCi model--high-compression plus Bosch fuel injection.

Daihatsu OFC-1 and HSC concepts

Tue, 11 Sep 2007

By Ben Pulman Motor Shows 11 September 2007 10:51 It looks remarkably like a Copen… It does indeed, and at 5mm shorter, the same width, and only 45mm higher the OFC-1 is all but identical to the Copen. In fact, it is the new Copen, just not as cute. But perhaps the biggest changes is the switch from a two to a three-piece folding roof.
