PAIR OF HEX STANDOFFS, WASHERS, AND CHROME CAP NUTS REMOVED FROM MY 1980 HONDA CB900 CUSTOM

The nuts and washers were originally used to secure the rear air shocks. Since my bike also had a luggage rack, the nuts were replaced with these standoffs and then reused to secure the luggage rack to the standoffs.

Condition as shown. Threads are good.

M10x1.25 x 19.5mm long stud;

M10x1.25 x ~15 mm deep threads in the hex head;

Hex head is 11/16” (17.4mm) x .75” (19mm) long;

38.5mm overall length.

Nut has a 14mm hex.

The standoffs used to secure the rear bumper are also available. If you need those too, please make me an offer as I’d like to sell both and I’d be happy to combine shipping.

From what I’ve seen on line, the nut was also used to secure the rear shock absorbers on:

CB750F 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982

CB750K 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982

CB750L 1979 Limited

CB750C 1980, 1981, 1982

CB750SC 1982, 1983 Nighthawk

CB900C 1980, 1981, 1982 Custom

CB900F 1981, 1982 Super Sport

CB1100F 1983

and many, many more that are not listed…

…so please measure and compare carefully, ask questions, and/or verify with your dealer, mechanic, or favorite online source before purchasing.

See any incorrect information? Please let me know!

Last summer I parted out my 1980 Honda CB900 Custom, which I had owned since 1982. About all that is left are the engine and transmission components, and some miscellaneous parts (foot pegs, wiring harnesses, levers, clamps, brackets, relays, etc.). All of the higher demand parts (gas tank, side covers, exhaust, gages, headlamp, fenders, chrome trim, controls, handlebars, charging system, ignition system, air shocks, brakes, oil pump, starter) have been sold off. However, if there is a specific part you are looking for feel free to ask about it using the “Ask a question” link.

Please don't bid if you want these parts to be new, because they aren’t. But I did take very good care of this bike. The bike was never in an accident. Many of the parts are as good as you’ll be able to find; all of the parts will be good enough to get your bike on the road again. Every part will have something wrong as they are used (and 33 years old). If it's bad, I try to mention it, but I don’t list every scuff, dimple, scratch, pit, or rust spot. Please do look at my feedback on parts from this bike which have been sold.

Shipping cost is based on actual package weight, size, and zip code (unless using USPS Flat Rate boxes) and generally only includes a “handling” charge if I have to purchase shipping materials (to cover the cost); mostly I use recycled shipping materials and try to ship the most economical method. I will combine shipping, but doing so may delay shipping a day or two as I will need to repackage your items.

·         I do my best to accurately and honestly describe all items, but since this is a used item and I have no control over its installation or usage, it is sold “As-Is

·         If there is a problem with your item, please let me know before leaving neutral or negative feedback, as I would like the opportunity to make it right. I try to always leave feedback after you are satisfied.

·         Local pick up is welcome. Please contact me for payment options for local pick up

A sideways look at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

Car design enthusiasts without even a passing fondness for a carefully calibrated engine note may struggle at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. A quiet place for the contemplation of automotive art it is not. However, the sheer scale and variety of vehicles on offer – crucially moving as well as static – is what makes the event, set within Lord March's huge country estate on England's south coast near Chichester, like no other in the world.

Hyundai HED-6 proper images surface

Wed, 18 Feb 2009

After yet more teasing last week on the Hyundai HED-6 concept, Hyundai has done the decent thing and released an actual image. Yippee! I shouldn’t complain really, as all these trickles of information do give us something to write about on a quiet day, but I do in some ways long for the days when cars were announced with all the information to take in in one go.
