Hertz are now offering the Lotus Elise SC for hire in Italy Hertz and Lotus have the answer – drive a Lotus Elise to show the Italians they’re not the only ones to make a cracking two seater (and a lot cheaper). Hertz has teamed up with Lotus to offer a fleet of bright yellow Lotus Elise SC at select outlets throughout Italy from the middle of this month. True to say you could probably have hired yourself a Lotus before to trolly round Italy, but with a big car hire company like Hertz in on the plan you can be pretty sure there will be a lot of takers.

Audi chairman to speak at CES

Audi chairman Rupert Stadler will be a keynote speaker on Jan. 6 at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The Consumers Electronics Association (CEA), host of the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology, will feature the Audi boss in a lineup along with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg and Samsung president Boo-Keun Yoo.

Volvo will market entry-level car to rival VW Golf

Volvo plans to offer a Volkswagen Golf competitor as part of a plan to expand the automaker's product line. Speaking in London last week, new Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby said the next generation of the entry-level Volvo “will be a derivation of the C30, a Golf competitor,” according to the Web site www.autocar.co.uk. He also said Volvo's brand positioning would shift toward “functionality and Scandinavian elegance” and away from sportiness, according to the Web site.
