Aston Martin V12 Zagato: First production car photos

Sat, 04 Feb 2012

Ahead of a debut in Kuwait in two weeks, we have the first official photos – interior and exterior – of the production version of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato.  So far we’ve had just one outside picture of the production version of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato, and we know that it will make its production debut at the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance on 15th February. But now we’ve got more pictures. Aston Martin has quietly published a PDF on the V12 Zagato (link to Aston Martin V12 Zagato PDF) which gives us some of the history behind the development of the V12 Zagato, tells us how it’s made (with craftsmen and hammers) and, for the first time, gives us a look at bothy the inside and outside of the new Zagato.

£2m McLaren P1 GTR for Pebble Beach

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

McLaren McLaren will show its new P1 GTR – pictured here for the first time in an official teaser shot above – at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance car show next month. The P1 GTR will feature a number of circuit-biased modifications – including a 1,000hp engine – and will cost £1.98 million. McLaren P1 GTR: track-focused modifications The GTR is based on McLaren’s P1 hybrid hypercar, itself designed not to be the fastest, but the most focused, involving and advanced driver’s car there is.

Think City EV Cup Edition (2010) first official pictures

Wed, 30 Jun 2010

Manufacturers have been trying to make their racers more economical for some time now; Audi and Peugeot have produced diesel Le Mans winners and CAR reviewed the Porsche GT3 R Hybrid in the June 2010 issue, but this the most recent fully electric offering from Norwegian company Think.   Think has followed the traditional road-racer conversion for this one-off prototype, by stripping out most of the interior and space for the passenger, using Perspex instead of glass in the windows, installing a solitary lightweight bucket seat and lowering the centre of gravity. The company claims the diet reduces the Think's weight by nearly 70kg; that's the same saving as a Lamborghini Gallardo Superlegerra, remember.
