Range Rover Evoque rally car: the Desert Warrior 3
Thu, 08 Nov 2012It was only a matter of time before someone took the slammed and attitudinal Range Rover Evoque and turned it into a rally raid vehicle capable of competing in the Dakar. The new Desert Warrior 3 is the result: a rally racer powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-litre diesel, tuned to produce between 275-300bhp depending on event restrictions, and a whole host of serious off-roading equipment to transform this from road to race car. GM bets on new four-cylinder family in Europe; U.S. plans unclear
Wed, 10 Oct 2012General Motors' European subsidiary, Opel, has revealed a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine that will be offered from early 2013 across its lineup, starting with the soon-to-be-revealed Astra-based Cascada convertible. The aluminum block unit, the first in a new range of so-called SIDI (spark ignition direct injection) ECOTEC engines, forms the centerpiece of the company's downsizing strategy for displacement. The engine is claimed to have improved torque characteristics and a significant reduction in consumption compared with its predecessor.
Classic Ford Bronco bodies go back into production

Now, vintage sport utility vehicle enthusiasts can get in on the fun as well. Hemmings reports that Dynacorn—a company that already produces Camaro, Mustang and Chevy truck bodies—will add the Ford Bronco to its reproduction lineup.
