Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Styling Pack launched
Sat, 25 Jun 2011Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Styling Pack arrives - glossy carbon fibre Bentley-ness If there’s a complaint about the Bentley Continental GT it’s that it’s become ubiquitous; an everyman Bentley (for every footballer, celeb and WAG, at least). Sadly, that perception undermines what is at the heart of how successful the Continental GT is; it’s quite simply an epic car. Take no notice of the Luddites who claim it’s not a real Bentley.
Kia Recall: 25,000 UK Kias recalled for faulty brake lights
Sat, 01 Jun 2013Kia are recalling 25,000 vehicles in the UK Kia’s research and development checks have uncovered a fault in the brake light switch on a whole raft of Kia cars built between 2006 and 2011, with over 25,000 UK-owned Kias being recalled to have a fix. Models affected are previous model Carens, Sedona, Sorento and Sportage and some of the current Sorento and Soul models as well as a few Optimas (actually, just 2 Optimas). This isn’t a huge problem for owners, but Kia has discovered that carbonisation on the brake light switch contacts can make the switch a bit glitchy, with the possibility the brake lights might not come on at all when the brake pedal is pressed or, if they do come on, they may stay on.
'Transport poverty' rising - RAC
Thu, 06 Feb 2014THE LEAST WELL-OFF families are slipping further into "transport poverty", according to an RAC Foundation survey. The poorest car-owning households spent at least 31% of their disposable incomes on buying and running a vehicle in 2012, the foundation said, up from 27% the year before. The figures, based on data obtained from the Office for National Statistics, showed that in 2012 the poorest families had a maximum weekly expenditure of £167, of which £51.40 went on a car.
