And the closed-top F-type coupe came with a surprise: there will be a high-performance F-type Coupe R model available at launch, boasting a Porsche-baiting 550hp. This makes it the fastest F-type to date, dispatching the benchmark 0-60mph drag race in a blistering 4.0sec.

For the launch, Hyundai invited us to Waddesdon Manor, the home of the Rothschild banking family and a venue that has been used for previous Louis Vuitton events.
