Tue, 18 Jan 2011The Mazda Minagi Concept - will become the Mazda CX-5 The Mazda Minagi Concept is a compact SUV concept Mazda are planning on taking to Geneva in March. Fortunately, the name won’t stick when the Minagi goes in to production. Instead, this will be the Mazda CX-5. With a front end that pays homage to the Mazda Shinari Concept (the concept that points the way to the Mazda RX-9) and a back end that seems to find inspiration in the Hyundai ix35, the Minagi is Mazda’s answer to the compact SUVs from Ford, Hyundai, Audi and VW.
International Engine of the Year Awards to focus on fuel efficiency
Fri, 03 May 2013Like the Oscars of the Otto cycle, the Grammys of gasoline, the International Engine of the Year Awards are a big deal in the industry. For 2013, the awards will continue to focus on green technology, pitting gasoline, compressed natural gas (CNG), hybrid and all-electric powerplants against each other for the title of "international engine of the year." Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine took top honors last year. Besides the top award, other categories include best green engine, best new engine and best performance engine, each voted on by journalists from around the world.
Bill Ford outlines 'Blueprint for Mobility' vision [w/video]
Wed, 29 Feb 2012Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford outlined a plan this week to develop connected cars to combat congestion on the roads in the future. His speech at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain was the first ever to be delivered at the annual communications industry event by an automotive industry executive.
