Tue, 20 Jul 2010It's 100 days to go until the world's first Ferrari theme park opens, and the money-spinning brains behind Ferrari World Abu Dhabi have revealed some of the attractions on offer. It's set on Yas Island, a 2500-hectare island dedicated to leisure, entertainment and lifestyle and is licensed out from Ferrari, who have no hand in its running. Ford Figo – Cool for India
Wed, 23 Sep 2009The Ford Figo - made in India For has spent a few bob – around £300 million – expanding its car making facilities in India at Chennai to make the plant capable of producing 200,000 cars a year which, as Alan Mullaly, Ford’s CEO said, does show how serious Ford are about the Indian market. The Figo – which is apparently colloquial Italian for ‘Cool’ – shares Ford’s small car platform, which means that under the skin it’s a Fiesta. It looks like a Ford too, with the usual ford ‘Kinetic’ design cues written all over it.
Hyundai arrives in Piccadilly Circus
Thu, 29 Sep 2011Hyundai arrives in Piccadilly Circus If you want a clear sign of how mainstream Hyundai has become, the news that it’s taken over the iconic billboard display in Piccadilly Circus from Sanyo is as much evidence as you need. Piccadilly Circus is the UK version of Times Square, and the neon signs have been a splash of international colour washing over Eros for a century, during which time there have been just fifty brands showcasing their wares to the 50 million or more passing Londoners – and visitors – every year, not counting the millions more who see the signs on Piccadilly Circus postcards that still wing their way round the world. The new Hyundai spot – which has been the Sanyo space for the last 33 years – is the last of the spaces to rely on neon lights to get its message across.
