Design Contest: Winners of the Interior Motives Design Awards 2004 announced
Fri, 08 Oct 2004After the second press day of the Paris Motor Show, designers made their way to Le Cab nightclub for the announcement of InteriorMotives Student Design Awards 2004 winners. Over 500 atttendees included leading automotive designers, design managers and top executives from automakers, independent designers and design studio personnel, as well as Tier 1 and 2 suppliers. This annual competition gives the opportunity for students to submit their work for viewing by a prolific file of judges.

Open-sourcing your patents is a rather unusual strategy in the automotive world but Musk says that ‘Tesla Motors was created to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport. If we clear a path to the creation of compelling electric vehicles, but then lay intellectual property landmines behind us to inhibit others, we are acting in a manner contrary to that goal.
New Developments at Bertone

But even in this global economic crisis the famed design studio is steadfast and committed, remaining vibrant and alive. The most recent development, which occurred on July 28, has seen Lilli Bertone, Nuccio Bertone's widow and President of Bertone, create Bertone Cento as the holding company for both Stile Bertone (design) and Bertonecento R&D (engineering).
