The latest episode walks viewers through the carmaker's history and evolution and features former Porsche director of design Harma Lagaaij – credited with the design of the 924 and also BMW's Z1 – along with a number of automotive critics and historians along with Speaking of the part he played in the evolution of Porsche, he says "I was never afraid of changing this icon. Not only has Land Rover managed to push the Range Rover more upmarket - and managed to bring in the new 3.0 litre diesel at a similar price point to the old V8 diesel without any real moans about price hikes - they’ve made the Rangie more economical, more powerful and much ‘Greener’. That message seems to have filtered in to Range Rover buyers very quickly, with one Land Rover dealer in the UK already reporting they’ve sold out of their entire allocation for 2013.
Crusade saves Brighton Speed Trials
Mon, 27 Jan 2014THE BRIGHTON Speed Trials, thought to be the longest-running motorsport event in the UK, has been saved following a crusade backed by thousands of people. Since 1905, the annual event has gained international acclaim for showcasing top-class cars and motorbikes racing over a quarter of a mile at Madeira Drive on Brighton's seafront. Organisers launched a campaign amid fears the event could be scrapped because Green-led Brighton and Hove City Council had not accepted an application to host it this year.
