New car registrations at five-year high September 2013 Despite the UK economy being in the doldrums for much of the past five years, new car registrations have recovered well ahead of the curve and still seem to be unstoppable. September saw new car registrations hit 403,136 – the highest figure for five and a half years – and the first time since 2008 new car registrations have broken the 400k barrier. The creators of the Renault stand at this year's Paris motor show have released a video explaining how they created one of the most popular show stands in recent years. The DGT Architects-designed Renault stand – named ‘The Bump' – was one of the stars of the show this year with its curves and lighting drawing praise and attracting admirers from across the event.  A total of 388 large squashed light globes that softly glowed a variety of colors were hung from the ceiling and simulated the movements of waves as they illuminated the stand below. To convey a sense of motion to the cars underneath, DGT used the movement of the lights and the creation of two hills.

Infiniti sports car concept

Infiniti is readying an all-new, 'highly advanced' EV concept. Set to make its debut at the 2012 Geneva motor show the as-yet unnamed range-extending electric sports car plays to Infiniti's ‘Inspired Performance' moniker. According to the Japanese luxury brand, the mid-engined sports car features all the current Infiniti stylistic traits, such as the crescent-moon C-pillar and slick surfacing.
