Toyota SAI – New Toyota Hybrid
Fri, 02 Oct 2009The new Toyota SAI will be based on the Lexus HS250 (pictured) Update 20/0/09: The Toyota Sai has now been revealed. The Toyota SAI is going to launch on the 20th October inĀ Japan. To all intents and purposes it is a Lexus HS250 under the skinĀ and features a similar drivetrain to the new Prius, but with a 2.4 litre petrol engine instead of the 1.8 litre in the Prius.

Not happy to have created automotive perfection with the latter, the Japanese brand went on to explore even more extravagant shapes and unveiled the first of the EX concepts series in 1969. While its bold lines are truly Japanese, the EX-1 looked like the missing link between the fast silhouette of a 1967 Maserati Ghibli and the hairy-chested heft of a Dodge Challenger.
