All Magnetic Compasses are vulnerable to magnetic interference, which will produce errors, called deviation. It is the Owner/Operator and/or Helmsman´s responsibility to make sure the compass is properly installed and compensated. Compensation is the act of correcting for deviation. Magnets (speakers, microphones etc.), ferrous metals (steel, iron, etc.) and current carrying devices are common causes of deviation. It is important to understand that magnetic compasses point toward Magnetic North. There is a difference between Magnetic North and True North, and that difference is called variation. Variation differs depending on your geographical location and can be determined by referring to a local chart.

Mercedes has announced the Hydrogen-Powered B-Class F-Cell
The B Class F-Cell will go in to limited production later this year, and be leased to 200 customers in Europe and the US. The electric motor on the F-Cell is reckoned to be comparable to a 2.0 litre petrol car, but can manage the equivalent of 86.6 mpg. But it doesn’t suffer from the drawbacks of plug-in electric cars, taking just 3 minutes to refuel.
WEDNESDAY 29th January will go down in history as the day Sir Malcolm Campbell’s record breaking 350hp Sunbeam was fired up and heard in public for the first time in over 50 years. The historic event followed a complete rebuild by the National Motor Museum’s workshop team. As the brainchild of Sunbeam’s chief engineer and racing team manager, Louis Coatalen, the car was constructed during 1919 and early 1920 and power came from an aero engine, a type used on naval seaplanes.
Nissan Motor Co. will shift production of one of its highest-volume vehicles, the Rogue crossover, from Japan to an American factory in a bid to cut its exposure to the high Japanese yen. Following the move, Nissan will build more than 100,000 Rogues a year at its Smyrna, Tenn., assembly plant in 2013, when the vehicle is scheduled for a redesign.
