This is the ideal solution for waterproofing a cable’s access hole in a marine or any outdoor environment. When installed, the devise will tighten a rubber grommet around the cable making it weather and water proof while creating a sleek and modern look. The size of the opening is standard for coaxial RG58 6mm cable universally used in VHF antenna installations but will work with any cable that size. This devise has many applications and can be installed on the exterior of houses, campers, RV’s, and of course it’s intended use in boat consoles. It will allow a cable to run inside without allowing water, or any animals such as ants or termites to enter. The size of the base is 37mm round. It is made with chromed plated brass marine grade materials so it will tolerate almost any environment. The terminal end of the cable must pass threw the devise before attaching anything, a connector will not fit threw it. This design provides a better seal than connectors that have a slit to slide over the cable. Also the PA5 does not create a break in the cable as some other designs do, this maintains the cables integrity. This is designed for above waterline applications only. Like all our products, this is made with the highest quality materials in our second generation family owned factory located in Modena Italy not far from where Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini are built . Miami Boat Gear is the official US distributor with a warehouse in Miami so you will receive your product quickly. Products ship out in one to two business days.

Installation:

Place PA5 in desired location, mark with pencil where to drill holes. If drilling in gel coat, use in reverse until you pass the gel coat to prevent chipping. Clean area with vacuum to prevent fiberglass exposure. Use a small amount of silicone in each of the three screw holes. Place PA5 down aligned with holes and drill screws in place.

Wiring Coaxial cable instructions:

mount antenna and trim cable if desired. Slice the outer rubber sleeve about 1 inch from the tip of the cable. Pull down the high quality tinned copper braid shielding found inside Scout cables. Slice the plastic sleeve ½ inch from the tip to expose the copper core ½ inches. Screw in the PL 259  or generic RG 58 male connector. The copper core must be trimmed at the tip and soldered to the RG58 connector to guarantee a good connection and function.

It is a testament to Terraneo's commitment that his company achieved its early aspirations and eco credentials long before concern for the environment and the reduction of carbon emissions was high on the political agenda or prevalent in the public conscience.
