Massive collection of Alfa Romeo Literature - Once in a Lifetime Opportunity

This collection was gathered over a 30+ year period by a well known Alfa Romeo club president and major enthusiast.  This is almost certainly the largest Alfa factory literature collection in the US.

I was only allowed to post 12 photos in this listing.  Here is a link to a full set of photos: https://flic.kr/s/aHskvQNfwP

You are bidding for the entire collection and I will not break it up or sell pieces individually.

I have owned this collection for a number of years now, but now really need the space.

The file cabinets are full of manuals and dealer brochures and other Alfa literature. There are stacks of owner's manuals, dealer parts books, technical manuals, special tool manuals, Alfa Corse race prep/competition manuals, buyer's guides, history books, art prints, Fusi book (Le Grandi Alfa Romeo), banners, posters, movies, microfilm & viewing equipment, and lots more. Also included are many examples of Alfa dealer promotional items as shown in the photo set.

Most of the items are for 101 & 105 series cars (also 750, 2000, 2600, and Montreal) and later Alfetta, Milano, and 164. There are also bound photocopies of service manuals for many other earlier Alfa models.

I'm hoping to find a museum library or Alfa Club that will keep this collection intact, but the buyer can certainly choose to resell these items individually and the profit upside is great if the materials were marketed properly.

There are hundreds of individual items, and it would take weeks to make an accurate inventory of everything. Please look at the photos carefully.

I can box everything up and load on pallets ready for transport if needed, but the buyer will need to arrange transportation (this will be heavy, so a pallet jack and truck with a liftgate will be needed). The 6 full size file cabinets are full and I will include these with the literature in them for easier shipping.

This collection is listed elsewhere and subject to prior sale.

Please ask questions and I will answer to the best of my ability- 805-331-1001 Mark

Terms:
$500 deposit due within 24 hours, and remainder within 5 days.  I can hold the collection while transportation is arranged, but pickup must take place within 2 weeks or a $50/week fee will apply.  Please inspect in person or ask questions before placing a bid.  I can take more detailed photos of anything needed - just ask.  This is an As-Is sale.

Thanks for looking!

McLaren 12C Spider: The video

Thu, 12 Jul 2012

Last week we had the reveal of the convertible version of the MP4-12C – the McLaren 12C Spider – and now we get theĀ firstĀ video of McLaren’s convertible supercar. We did think McLaren would have released a video of the new 12C Spider when it was revealed last week, but they’ve obviously got the hang of their new video software now so we finally get to see the 12C Spider in action. McLaren has used cinema-quality RED camera technology to capture the 12C Spider in terrific detail as it first performs on track and then traverses the stunning roads in the mountains of Andalucia.

Report: Gasoline engine has big bang for the fuel-economy buck

Mon, 11 Oct 2010

A government report says improving the gasoline engine will yield huge gains for the consumer and the environment as automakers consider ways to improve fuel economy over the next 14 years. The Obama administration's technical assessment looked at four technology scenarios by which automakers might attain suggested CAFE goals of 47 to 62 mpg for cars and light trucks by 2025. The scenarios differed by the portion of an automaker's fleet that was accounted for by electrics, hybrid electrics and plug-in hybrid electrics.
