The Classic "SS" (Six Shoe) Centrifugal Clutch: The "SS" Series is the most popular style centrifugal clutch used by American Go Kart Manufacturers since it's introduction in 1970. It has a broached 3/16" keyway with two set screw holes located 90 degrees apart. The two set screw holes are tapped 1/4"-28. The recommended key length is 1/2".  The secret to it's success is the ability to take heat without ruining the garter spring. The spring is made from 302 stainless steel and it can take more than twice the heat of music wire used by competitors. The Spring Manufacturer's Institute indicates a maximum temperature for music wire springs at 250 degrees F ... 550 degrees F for #302 stainless steel wire.

Clockwise or Counterclockwise - The Max-Torque Clutch will operate with equal efficiency in either a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. The clutch can be mounted inboard or outboard with no adjustments needed.

No Load Starting - The standard Max-Torque "SS" automatic clutch is preset to engage at approximately 2,200 rpm. This engagement speed level protects the operator, as well as the power transmission system during engine cranking, starting and idling.

2015 Ford S-Max revealed – debuts at 2014 Paris Motor Show

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The new Ford S-Max debuts at Paris and goes on sale next summer The Ford S-Max Concept arrived at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year as Ford worked hard to prove they really did have new cars on the way, despite the huge delay in delivering the new Ford Mondeo to Europe – with which the new S-Max shares its underpinnings – and now we get the real deal – the 2015 Ford S-Max. Looking very like the S-Max Concept, the new S-Max is the same size as the outgoing model but gets an evolutionary redesign complete with Ford’s ‘Aston Martin’ grill and some funky headlights, with the A-Pillars further back, higher beltline, bigger shoulders at the back and a set of slim tail lights at the back separated by a chrome strip. It all conspires to make the new S-Max sportier and more appealing.

Alfa Romeo MiTo facelift revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

The Alfa Romeo MiTo has been refreshed for the 2014 model year here at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show – a subtle facelift that the Italian maker will be hoping is enough to see off the challenge from the forthcoming all-new MINI. There’s still no five-door variant but revised engines and updated trims make the smallest Alfa feel just that bit more modern.

Consulatation on 20mph speed limit

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

BIRMINGHAM City Council has launched a public consultation on plans which could see around 90% of roads in the city given a 20mph speed limit. The authority believes the "20 is Plenty" scheme, costing around £7 million, would make residential streets safer and transport networks more sustainable. Key routes would keep higher speed limits under the long-term proposals, but public feedback is also being sought on whether the 20mph scheme should also be considered for busy high street shopping areas, around schools, leisure facilities, hospitals and public transport interchanges.
