UK Car Insurance Company reports buyers downsizing
Sun, 14 Jun 2009Swinton Insurance claim quote requests for bigger cars are down 20% Swinton say that it has seen an increase of 25% in quote requests for smaller engined cars in the last six months and a decrease of 20% in car insurance quotes for cars over 1.8 litres (which, short of the big-engined cars being scrapped begs the question: What’s happened to the big-engined cars? Did they just disappear, or are they just not being insured?). But this got us thinking.
Is this supercharged V8 destined for the Corvette ZR1?

Corvette Online nabbed the shot of a supercharged LT1-looking V8 mill; they cite the injector cover shape and the throttle body. The site also noted the twin-rotor supercharger with an LSA/LS9-style pulley on the front.
New Rolls Royce marks water speed records
Wed, 14 May 2014A POWERFUL land vehicle which pays homage to speed on water has been unveiled by Rolls-Royce. The car company showed off its limited-edition Waterspeed Phantom Drophead Coupe on the site of the original Bluebird Motor Company forever associated with the speed record-holding Campbell family. The site is now the Bluebird restaurant on the King's Road in west London, with the Bluebird company having funded Sir Malcolm Campbell's waterspeed record attempts.
