Rush Motorsport/ RM Autosport Pro-built Motor

RM Autosport is the premier SM engine builder in both NorCal and SoCal, with top finishing cars in most SM races on the west coast.

In 2011, I had Louis build this motor from a Mazda crate motor that had 1 season on it.  A year later debris got inside the motor and destroyed 2 pistons.  He rebuilt both the head and bottom end, doing a 10-overbore (15 lb penalty in SM, but more HP/Torque).   The motor was built as a 100% SCCA and NASA legal engine.  Fully legal.

I ran the motor in the car for 3 years and finished strong at all events, including the SCCA Runoffs in Monterey (18th of 45, and 3rd fastest 1.6 powered SM) and won SoCal NASA Regional SM Championship in 2013 using this motor.

Before the last race I had Louis dyno the motor on his chassis dyno.  Made 125 HP and 112 ft lbs torque, which is was 1 and 1 less than it had when it was new, meaning this is a very strong and competitive motor.

Well maintained.   The oil changed every other race weekend.  Schaeffer synthetic.  Water changed 1 time per year, as well as fuel filter.

Includes balanced ACT clutch and complete motor as you see in the photos.  Injectors rebuilt a couple years ago.  New coil and cam sensor a couple years ago.

I removed the motor from the car (also for sale), and am selling the motor separately.  Spent about well over 15K on this motor over the years and it is as strong as it was when it was new.  Asking $3K.

Call Dave at 619-944-2002 if you have any questions.

Local pickup preferred, but I can send by truck just about anywhere in the USA.  I suspect the cost is near $400, including a $100 crate fee.

Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster revealed ahead of Frankfurt

Sun, 29 May 2011

Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster - this time it's undisguised You might have thought that the photos of the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster we published a couple of weeks back were the official reveal of the soft-top SLS. But you’d be wrong. Those photos were in fact of a disguised SLS Roadster (although you’d have to look hard to see what was hidden).

New Jaguar XE OFFICIALLY launched – price from £27,000

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

The new Jaguar XE arrives After months of teasing, years of planning and huge sums of money spent, it’s here – the new Jaguar XE. Looking like a slightly smaller version of the XF, with an upright nose, longish bonnet, coupe-like profile and stubby tail, the XE is clearly a Jaguar – and a fairly conservative one at that – which is probably sensible when  entering such a competitive sector as the ‘Premium’ compact saloon market. But the new XE isn’t just a punt for a few sales in a new sector for Jaguar, but a car that could take Jaguar from an interesting maker of relatively low volume cars to a global ‘Premium’ car maker; nose to nose in a very competitive sector with, principally, Audi and the A4, BMW and the 3 Series and Mercedes and the C-Class.

BMW M6 Gran Coupe – undisguised

Thu, 08 Nov 2012

We have a shot of the new BMW M6 Grand Coupe taken at a private launch event in Germany ahead of a debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. You may ask, quite reasonably  what’s the point of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe? After all, there’s a proper coupe in the regular BMW M6, and if you want four doors then the choice must be the BMW M5.
