Honda Civic Type-R (2006): first official pictures
Thu, 14 Sep 2006By Dimitri Pesin First Official Pictures 14 September 2006 07:12 The lowdown Honda's ultimate Civic – the Type-R – is unveiled today (Thursday 14). Set to go on UK sale in March 2007 for around £18,000, this Type-R attempts to mate the outgoing hot hatch's high-revving, wild child drivetrain with a more mellow driving experience – when the mood takes you. Indeed, Honda is billing the new car as a 'refined superhatch', a concept Ford and VW have nailed successfully with the Focus ST and Golf GTi.
Reventon v Tornado
Wed, 28 Nov 2007By Ben Whitworth Motor Industry 28 November 2007 17:08 Lamborghini’s mean-looking €1 million Reventón may look like a stealth fighter without the wings, but a couple of Raging Bull test drivers decided to take on the real thing over the weekend. They raced a Tornado fighter bomber, one of the world's most sophisticated and capable interdiction and attack aircraft. Lined up on the 1.8 mile-long runway at Ghedi military base near Brescia in Italy, the 650bhp mid-engined supercar looked a little short of muscle compared to the two-seater Tornado.
Mercedes confirms electric AMG SLS
Fri, 17 Jul 2009By Richard Webber First Official Pictures 17 July 2009 09:46 Mercedes’ new AMG SLS – the gullwinged GT supercar due to appear at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show – is going electric as engineers develop an emissions-free battery powered SLS as an alternative to the 563bhp V8. The eco SLS will have an electric motor powering each wheel, producing a total of 526bhp. Needless to say, for now it remains an engineering prototype – but a spokeswoman told CAR that Mercedes was intent on putting it into production.
