New tech suggests windowless cars are on the horizon

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

For years students have presented windowless car projects, explaining how the view from outside would be projected within the interior. Now an aerospace company has created the technology that could hold the key to turning the dream into a reality. Spike Aerospace's upcoming S-512 supersonic business class jet replaces its windows with high-definition screens displaying footage of the panoramic views streamed live from micro cameras on its fuselage as tests have unsurprisingly shown that passengers are a little uneasy about not being able to see outside.

Thu, 29 Sep 2011

Citroen C4 Aircross tease We weren’t expecting the teaser photo we had for a new Citroen this morning – the Citroen C4 Aircross. So what is it? The logical assumption is that it’s going to be a rufty-tufty, semi-off-road version of the C4, with a jacked-up suspension and lots of add-on plastic bits to make the C4 Aircross better able to take on the rigours of the urban jungle.

Redesigned Ford Focus expected to get 40 mpg on the highway

Wed, 20 Oct 2010

The redesigned 2012 Ford Focus will get an estimated 40 mpg in highway driving with an all-aluminum 2.0-liter engine mated to a six-speed, dual-dry-clutch automatic transmission. The normally aspirated engine combines variable camshaft timing and high-pressure direct fuel injection to crank out 160 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. That compares with 140 hp and 136 lb-ft from the aluminum 2.0-liter engine used in the current-generation Focus.
