Mbt, M100 Military 1/4 Ton Trailer Canvas Tarp With Ropes on 2040-parts.com
Richmond, Ohio, United States
Mil Spec canvas Trailer Tarp for WWII and Korean War era military 1/4 ton trailers. This tarp will fit the MBT and other manufacturers variants as well as the post war M100. Individually handcrafted in the USA. Not an off shore import. Not a mass produced product packaged for resale. You can find cheaper canvas for your MV, but you will be sacrificing quality for price. These are made in the USA in our shop in eastern Ohio. For over 25 years, we have specialized in Mil Spec canvas items for military vehicle restorations. All components and construction details adhere to strict military specifications and original manufacturer's designs. We only use Mil Spec Cotton Duck with strict weave and treatment specifications. Our duck is treated for water, flame and mildew resistance as per the original government specifications. We do not use commonly available duck that is a so called commercial equivalent to the mil spec. We do not use off shore produced raw materials of questionable quality and origin. Uncle Sam does not accept inferior grades of duck or inferior treatments and neither should you. Not all cotton ducks are created equal. Don't fall for an inferior product based on an attractive price. Honest pricing is reflective of the quality of the raw materials and construction methods. We are a mom and pop shop, not a mass production facility. Any item that you purchase from us will be made by one of the two owners of this business. There are no random employees, having off days, putting substandard products out the door. You can be assured that all steps of the production process, from cutting to packing, are under the keen eye of one (or both) of the owners. We do not have quality control issues in our shop. We do not use materials that are not Mil-Spec compliant. We are not a mass production facility. Your item will be individually cut and handcrafted with unequaled attention to detail. All of our products are made to order. Due to the shrinkage characteristics of cotton duck, we do not stock any finished product. Canvas products, that are mass produced or produced in a production line environment, then subjected to storage until sold off, will often display fit and finish problems related to shrinkage. Our canvas products, being freshly made, will fit exactly as the original product was designed. Our years of experience and our understanding of inherent shrinkage issues in natural fibers materials, has given us the knowledge to build products with proper allowances to deal with these issues so you don't have to. Our computerized design takes into account all dynamics of the cutting and assembly process, so that the product that you receive will fit as the original design intended. All of our fitted vehicular covers are cut from 72" wide Mil Spec cotton duck, which eliminates seams in the upper panels of all tops produced by us. Seams leak, and will fail long before the intended life of the canvas product. For many years, our product line has been well represented by the top award winners at the annual MVPA conventions and other regional venues throughout the globe. From Motorpool Restored, to First in Class, to Best of Show, our countless satisfied customers didn't settle for "second best" or "good enough" for their award winning restorations. Don't accept an inferior, mass produced or offshore clone for the most visible part of your restoration These Tarps are made from #8 Cotton Duck, OD #7 color. As these are made from materials presently on hand, and as computer monitors present colors differently, the photos should be considered a representative sample. You will receive 1 Tarp with natural fibers rope set, as shown made from #8, Olive Drab #7 Cotton Mil Spec Duck. As we use 72" duck, as specified in the Willys BoMs, there are no center seams in our tarps. Seams leak; we do not believe in adding unnecessary seams that will cause leakage. Grommets are Mil Spec Blackened Brass. Ropes are cut to proper lengths and ends are secured with brass clamps. As we specialize in Mil Spec work, we do not carry any other canvas colors other than OD #7. Avoid our normal production lead time by purchasing through ebay. As all of our items are generally made as ordered, we will devote Friday of each week to producing items purchased through ebay. Your item will either ship on Friday or the following Monday. |

Dramatic CCTV footage shows consequences of tyre failure
Wed, 23 Oct 2013AS A PART of October's Tyre Safety Month initiative the Highways Agency have released dramatic footage of the consequences of tyre failure. In the clip, viewable on the Highways Agency YouTube channel, motorway cameras capture the moment a front tyre explodes on a large lorry, sending it out of control and into the central reservation in a spectacular crash. Further clips show the chaos caused when all three lanes of a motorway are closed to retrieve tyre debris, and the eye-watering £2 million cost of a lorry fire caused by tyre failure results in all six lanes of a motorway being shut for hours.
Hyundai HND-9 Concept at Seoul Motor Show
Thu, 21 Mar 2013The Hyundai HND-9 is a concept coupe from Hyundai, heading for the Seoul Motor Show at the end of March, and probably previews the next Genesis Coupe. The Hyundai HND-9 is, according to Hyundai, the ‘Latest luxury sports coupe’, which we assume means the HND-9 is pointing at the next generation Genesis Coupe, a car we don’t (yet) get in the UK. The HND-9 gets an evolution of Hyundai’s fluidic design (although, unlike the latest Santa Fe where Hyundai decided the new design was called ‘Storm’, the HND-9′s design doesn’t get a name) which Hyundai say is a modern reinterpretation of an elegant classic premium sports coupe.
Audi Urban Future: Project New York
Thu, 05 May 2011Audi will take advantage of New York's 'Festival of Ideas' to display their vision of Manhattan in 2030, an objective that fulfills part of the German automaker's Urban Future Initiative. Now in its second year (the first was held in Venice last year) the initiative was created with the intention of looking at the future of megacities as well as individual transport methods and mobility. For Project New York, Audi will be bringing together architects, designers, artists and researchers to visualize ideas for the city's future, and the carmaker has collaborated with the Architizer architecture community to create a 1:1200 scale model of Manhattan.
