New Hyundai i30 Coupe previewed by US 2013 Elantra Coupe

    Wed, 08 Feb 2012

The Hyundai Elantra Coupe will turn in to the Hyundai i30 Coupe in the UK & Europe The reveal of the 2013 3-door Hyundai Elantra Coupe at the Chicago Motor Show signals the new Hyundai i30 Coupe for the UK & Europe. Hyundai has just started marketing for the 2012 i30 with a slick commercial aimed at taking on the might of VW’s Golf and Ford’s Focus – with every chance of serious success. But the five-door i30 Coupe isn’t the end of the new i30 story – just the beginning.

VW Design Vision GTI gets 500bhp: Worthersee

    Wed, 08 May 2013

The Design Vision GTI is built to show what a Golf built for racing would look like – and perhaps point to future evolutions of VW’s most successful car – and is built on the same MQB platform as the regular GTI. It’s a bit shorter (15mm) than a regular Golf, a chunk wider (71mm) and a lot lower (57mm) which conspires to make the Design Vision GTI much more aggressive looking than its mainstream sibling. Power comes from a 3.0 litre V6 with two turbos – good for 500bhp and 413lb/ft of torque – which is driven to all four wheels through a DSG ‘box and can scoot to 62mph in a supercar-like 3.9 seconds on its way to 186mph.

Bertone to celebrate 100th anniversary with Nuccio concept

    Mon, 13 Feb 2012

Bertone will introduce its new Nuccio concept car at the Geneva Motor Show as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. The concept – named after the son of the company's founder Nuccio Bertone, who died in 1997 – appears to take inspiration from the 1970 Lancia Stratos HF Zero, one of Bertone's most famous designs, created by Marcello Gandini. The similarities in these teaser sketches include the extreme wedge profile and hood/windscreen surface, highlighted in orange.
