Infiniti introduces personal concierge service with new cars

The luxury-car market is tough a game when the economy is going good. When it's bad, automakers have to think up all sorts of incentives to get buyers into showrooms. Case in point: the personal concierge service from Infiniti.

Trouble at Bertone

It was hoped that Bertone would be exhibiting its latest concept, the B.A.T.11, in Geneva this year, a design inspired by the B.A.T.5., B.A.T.7 and B.A.T.9 concepts developed between 1953 and 1955. The car is based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. But after receiving a release from Stile Bertone announcing the prototype on February 13, the company's communications department sent through another email stating that it would not, in fact, be attending the show this year.

Geely's new Shanghai design studio at the center of four-studio operation

Geely Group's new central Shanghai Design Center is the global hub of its four-studio design operations. The facility on Guozhan Road, Pudong New District was formerly the site of the Central American Union Pavilion during the 2010 Shanghai EXPO and was chosen for its potential for growth despite its downtown location. The 3,800 square meter studio will be home to around 110 staff – both local and international – over the coming months, as part of the company's ongoing recruitment drive as it strives to be seen as one of the leading Chinese players.
