Spy photos: BMW's 3-series GT

The BMW 5-series GT has been a sales success for the German automaker, even though the AutoWeek staff is sharply divided over its looks. There's a redesigned 3-series coming for 2012, and a GT version is joining in the lineup. Bentley promises '90% hybrid range by 2018'

Speaking at the debut of the Mulsanne Hybrid Concept at the Beijing motor show, Dr Wolfgang Schreiber announced that a plug-in hybrid option was ‘the right choice for the future of Bentley’. He also confirmed that the first production-spec Bentley with a part-electric powertrain will be the marque's controversial new SUV.

Pirelli unveils 2012 edition of 'artistic' calendar

Tiremaker Pirelli has previewed the 2012 edition of its calendar, known for its regular use of unclothed models in artistic poses and the exclusivity of the list of recipients. Photographer Mario Sorrenti chose the island of Corsica as the location to capture his "swoon" images. This is the first time that Sorrenti has shot the calendar, which has used many famous photographers in the past including Annie Leibovitz, Richard Avedon and Bruce Weber.
