The long road to perfection
Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels not only boost your vehicle's looks, they also offer the ultimate in safety.

All wheels are precision-tailored to your vehicle in terms of load profile and dimensions. Before your light-alloy wheels are allowed to accompany you safely on your travels, they are subjected to an extensive development and testing programme. Each wheel design has to pass a variety of endurance tests, based on exacting Mercedes-Benz guidelines, all of which exceed statutory requirements. These include special test routines which simulate real challenges on the road and material tests in cutting-edge x-ray facilities.

High-sheen wheels undergo additional tests such as exposure to highly corrosive salt spray or a 28-day variable climate programme. Only once all of the tests have been passed may the wheels be included in the range of genuine Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels.

Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels are supplied without tires, hub caps, valve caps, wheel bolts or rim locks

Nissan Hi-Cross Concept at 2012 Geneva motor show

Wed, 07 Mar 2012

Nissan made constant reference to being ‘owners’ of the crossover concept during their Geneva press conference. From the Murano to the Juke, via the Qashqai, rugged urban transport has been one of its big success stories (alright, maybe not the Murano). The seven-seater Hi-Cross Concept, premiered here, showcases some of the styling ideas that Nissan could filter through to future production models and also features a hybrid drivetrain and new version of its CVT gearbox.

Tokyo motor show 2011 - a walkaround review

Fri, 02 Dec 2011

Two years ago, in the midst of the worldwide financial crash, the 2009 Tokyo motor show felt like a tiny regional event as Western manufacturers abandoned ship. Not this year. 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee facelift revealed

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

Chrysler has rolled out a facelift for the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the usual cosmetic tweaks, better interior and new 8-speed auto ‘box. Jeep has worked hard to make the latest Grand Cherokee a much more appealing road car than before, with car-like on-road manners despite still having Land Rover levels of off-road ability. The only real criticisms we can level at the current Grand Cherokee (which, coincidently  we have in for review this week) is some cheap trim on the inside, a blobby infotainment system and an old-school, five-speed auto ‘box that really has no place in a modern, premium SUV.
