Concept Car of the Week: Bugatti 18/3 Chiron (1999)

In 1998, Volkswagen AG acquired the French company Bugatti with the intention of restoring it to its former glory. After the luxurious EB112 and EB118 concepts, Ferdinand Piech commissioned Italdesign to work on another prototype: a Bugatti flagship supercar – the Chiron. While its predecessor, the mighty EB110, was a fantastic and bold design, it lacked a real Bugatti character.

Saab secures more funds as it seeks to avert collapse

Saab parent Swedish Automobiles has found another financial lifeline in China as the struggling carmaker faces possible legal action from unions over unpaid wages. In a statement this morning, Swedish Automobiles announced that an un-named Chinese firm has placed an order for 582 Saab vehicles, valued at 13 million Euro (£11.5m) with full pre-payment 'expected to be made this week'.  Saab plans to use the funds to pay wages and begin partial payments to component suppliers in order to restart production. New 2015 Kia Sorento revealed

The new Kia Sorento, revealed ahead of its debut in Paris We got a tease for the 2015 Kia Sorento last month with Kia revealing the new Sorento gets a slightly more sporting look with a lower roofline, higher beltline, sculptured body surfaces and a new ‘Tiger Nose’ grill. Now, with the new Sorento due to debut in South Korea later this month – and in Europe at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October – Kia has revealed the first photos of the new Sorento. The new Sorento looks a decent effort, and the styling is certainly more appealing, despite elements carried over from the current Sorento, but there’s certainly influences from Kia’s Cross GT Concept.
