Up for sale is a pair of adjustable rear camber kit for the S-class W140 and the C140 coupe Mercedes Benz models. Please see the part and model chart for comparability. These kits are fabricate locally here in the United States. The rod ends are stainless steel with Energy Suspension graphite filled polyurethane bushings with stainless steel sleeve. The tie rod sleeves are iodized gold T6061 aluminum drawn tubing for strength, durability, and precise fit.
These are great for correcting negative camber - when the top of the wheel is tipped in towards the body. Camber is the tilt of the wheel along its vertical. Running wider tires or car with lowering springs can cause this issue where your tires are wearing out on the inside. They are also great for older cars where the suspension tends to sag hence the wheel looks "spray out". To some degree, this is a good thing as it allows more of the tire tread to stay in contact with the ground during hard cornering. But if you have too much negative camber, which degrades cornering performance as well as hinders grip during hard acceleration. Negative camber also wore out the tires faster on the inside. The camber kit can straighten the wheels by dialing out the negative camber, something you can't do with the stock suspension. They are also great for race days where changing from street tires to drag or race tires where the camber need to be adjusted on the spot. There is a notch on the end of the rod where you can manually adjust the rod by dialing the wheel in or out. Like wise, if you want more negative camber, this kit can put the wheel further in, allowing more negative camber for those of you who would like to have the "tuck-in" and slammed look:) Also, I am currently carry the polyurethane lubrication - Energy Suspension Formula 5 Prelube item# 301205378325. These are great to pre-lube the rod ends, bolts, nuts, bushing and the aluminum piping before installation. A small drop is all you need to lube and waterproof the bolt, nuts and rod ends. Hyundai i30 R Turbo at Geneva 2013
Tue, 23 Oct 2012The anticipated ’hot’ Hyundai i30 looks like it’s arriving at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with the turbo engine from the Veloster. It’s nearly a year since we reported that Hyundai were planning to make a performance version of the i30, with the 1.6 litre turbo from the Velsoter Turbo promising decent performance and up to 200bhp. Now Autoblog in Spain are reporting that a Hyundai i30 RS (or i30 R or i30 GT or i30…) will arrive at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show as a prelude to a 2014 launch.
Audi S1 at Paris
Sat, 11 Sep 2010The Audi S1 will have a Paris Launch (A1 Wörthersee Concept pictured) It’s getting on for a year since we reported that – despite some saying it wouldn’t happen – Audi were planning at least a warm version of the A1 and had on the drawing board the Audi S1 to take on the MINI Cooper. So it’s not a shock that we hear Audi are planning on bring the S1 along to Paris for a reveal before getting the S1 on the roads by the second quarter of 2011. Expect the usual Audi S bits in the mix - bigger wheels, fettled suspension, beefed-up brakes, body kit – and power in the S1 to come from the S/C turbo 1.4 TSI found in the VW Polo GTI, although the S1 may just get a tweaked version of the engine as befits its higher standing in the VW hierarchy with a bit more than the 178 horses the Polo GTI manages.
Mini reveals John Cooper Works Concept at Detroit auto show
Mon, 13 Jan 2014Today at the Detroit Auto Show Mini debuted the new 2014 John Cooper Works Concept. The JCW (as the cool people call it) is the performance version of the Mini, and the debut of the concept included a rock band and impressive amount of smoke courtesy of a fog machine. The JCW concept was decked out in traditional John Cooper Works style, and that meant an exclusive color scheme with red color accents over Bright Highways Grey paint, and 18-inch light alloy wheels.
