Here is an air cleaner assembly from a 1965 Mercedes Benz 220Sb sedan with the 2195cc inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine equipped with twin Zenith carburetors. This might fit other Mercedes benz models with the twin Zenith carburetor assembly. Includes all parts pictured. Everything is in used, good, serviceable condition. One of the bolts that mounts the assembly to the carburetor is missing, but it appears to be a fairly common metric bolt. The other bolt is present so you can know which size and thread type to get. Filter is included. Mann brand filter does not appear dirty or contaminated and seems to be well within its usable service life. There is a bit of minor surface rust on the bottom of the filter canister. The surface rust is very superficial, the metal is not thinned or weakened in any way, nor have any rust flakes formed. Please have a look at the pictures for a closer look. Rubber bellows connector makes a great seal and is very pliable. However when stretched out some very light surface cracking from age can be seen here and there in small areas if you look for it. Includes the the mounting hardware to the fender as pictured. Below are the identification numbers on all the pieces:
Canister: Knecht brand LP442, DB 003 094 4606, MircoStar Einsatz EL 431, DB 000 094 8104
Rubber Bellows: MB part number 180 094 8104
Carburetor Cover: Mann 39 055 80 100, DB 000 094 2108
Filter: Mann MicroTop C20105
Please let us know if you have any questions. Shipping weight = 13 lbs. We also have the twin Zeniths from this car available. Can set up a separate Ebay auction for those if interested.

BMW 5-series is in line for the company's new triturbo diesel engine

Wed, 23 Nov 2011

Details leaked from a dealer conference held in Holland this week suggest that BMW's upcoming 550dX will be the first recipient of the German carmaker's new high-tech triturbo 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine. The new engine, which also is destined for the new X5 xDrive50d and X6 xDrive50d models, is claimed to produce 376 hp and more than 516 lb-ft of torque--some 70 hp and more than 74 lb-ft more than the most powerful version of BMW's existing twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine, as found in the X5 xDrive40d. The radical new engine, which is rumored to use two traditional exhaust-blown turbochargers in combination with an electrically driven turbocharger to add low-end response, is planned to be offered exclusively with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive.

Scalded-cheetah Nissan GT-R runs a 7.98 quarter-mile

Eight-second cars are often funny-looking and monstrous-sounding. To get into the eights in the mid-1960s, Dick Landy hacked up his Dodges, altering the wheelbase for better weight transfer. Within a couple of years, the full-on nitro-sucking flopper would come to be the quickest thing with four wheels and a body with some resemblance to a production automobile, ushering the Funny Car era.

USA, UK & Germany will be top markets for the new BMW i8. You don’t say?

Sun, 11 Aug 2013

The BMW i8 (Pictured) will sell best in US, UK & Germany In a case of stating the obvious in a bid to keep interest in the BMW i8 high ahead of its debut at Frankfurt next month, Hendrik Wenders – the i8 product manager – has declared the biggest market for the BMW i8 will be the USA. As America is already BMW’s biggest market place, that’s not entirely a shock, and nor is the news that the UK and Germany will be the biggest markets in Europe. After all, they’re the only major economies in Europe without huge falling markets for cars.
