MERCEDES BURLED wood trim for SEL SDL  W126 left rear drivers side NO RESERVE

Excellent condition, as pictured.  One small crack, about a quarter of an inch, in the upper middle of the cut-out.  Not visible in this pic.  No other flaws except for some tiny scratches on the left, and a slight lightening of the varnish from sun exposure.  Any marks in picture are lint.  Some scuffing hides under the plastic molding.

Pulled from a very well-cared for 1986 300SDL, which had door panels replaced from another 126 model, since all the SDL's had Zebrano wood (I think)  and this is burled.  Driven by a the daughter of veteran Mercedes mechanic who did many repairs to keep it up to date.  He told me, "She's going to be SAFE!"  Unfortunately for him, the motor froze after she drove it for a couple years.

Fits 86-87 OM603 300SDL and several other W126 models from 1979 to 1993.  Fits the long wheelbase model;  since this is the front, it might no matter but please be sure about your model.

Tue, 06 Mar 2012

New Audi A3 arrives at Geneva The all new Audi A3 has debuted at Geneva as a 3 door looking just like the current A3 – but it’s completely new. The 2012 Audi A3 has arrived at Geneva 2012, and it looks like the VW Group is starting to learn from Porsche’s designers; the new A3 is a new car but, unless you look hard, it could be the old A3. Sitting on a longer wheelbase than the current A3, which promises more room inside, and a bit wider too, the new A3 gets Audi’s square-cornered frill with large air intakes and the now familiar Audi headlights with LED running lights.

Volvo XC60 (2008): first official pictures

Tue, 19 Feb 2008

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 19 February 2008 12:10 Volvo has finally sanctioned official shots of the XC60 – a junior version of the XC90 SUV that has helped turn around the fortunes of the Swedish company. Yes, it’s another crossover entering an increasingly congested marketplace, but Volvo hopes this one will appeal to buyers wanting the versatility of a 4x4 without the heft. Key points worth noticing are the Swedes’ gently evolving design – this is the first model developed under Steve Mattin’s watch as design director.

SPD offers scholarships for autumn program with Volkswagen Group

Wed, 10 Aug 2011

The Scuola Politecnica di Design is giving away eight scholarships for its autumn program in collaboration with the Volkswagen Group. The scholarships are aimed at students with degrees in transportation or car design, automotive engineering or equivalent degrees that show a high level of potential. The successful eight students will be given scholarships and will begin their studies at the Milan-based SPD on October 24. The awarding of the scholarships will be decided by a ‘motivational interview', an evaluation of the student's portfolio and the submission of a conceptual project assignment, with the election process being conducted jointly by the SPD and Volkswagen.
