Caterham planning SUV & City car

Fri, 05 Jul 2013

It’s not just an Alpine Sports car (pictured) that Caterham will sell – it’s an SUV & City car too We already know that Caterham and Renault are working together to build a new sports car to be marketed as both a Caterham and an Alpine. But there’s already more in development. When we revealed the joint venture between Caterham and Alpine/Renault it was clear that Caterham wanted to develop a broad range of cars with Renault, and now Caterham boss Tony Fernandez has revealed to Reuters there’s a Caterham SUV and Caterham City car in development.

USA, UK & Germany will be top markets for the new BMW i8. You don’t say?

Sun, 11 Aug 2013

The BMW i8 (Pictured) will sell best in US, UK & Germany In a case of stating the obvious in a bid to keep interest in the BMW i8 high ahead of its debut at Frankfurt next month, Hendrik Wenders – the i8 product manager – has declared the biggest market for the BMW i8 will be the USA. As America is already BMW’s biggest market place, that’s not entirely a shock, and nor is the news that the UK and Germany will be the biggest markets in Europe. After all, they’re the only major economies in Europe without huge falling markets for cars.

Cabbie trials smartphone-only payment

Mon, 14 Jul 2014

A LONDON cab driver has become the first to accept payment only from a mobile phone app as part of a new trial. Ian Cable will only accept payment via the Barclays PingIt app during the five-day trial, following on from also being the first cabbie to use chip and pin as a form of payment back in 2004. "I am very excited to take part in this trial,” said Mr Cable.
