Mercedes M-100 6.3 Engine Block on 2040-parts.com

Location:

McAlester, Oklahoma, United States
Engine block, engine supports. Use to replace a cracked block.
Surface Finish:original Country/Region of Manufacture:Germany Warranty:No

This is the bare block from a 1970 300sel 6.3.  It also has the top of the oil filter and the engine mounts but that's about all.

This was pulled from car 109.018-12-004166 and has the engine number of 100981-12-004218.  The car was delivered new on 10/15/1970 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The car rusted away and I used the other parts from this engine for other projects.  I hung on to this in case I cracked a block and i needed one.

But I no longer have a 109 so I no longer need this block.  It is time for it to go to someone who can use it.

What you see is what you get.  I can warranty it to be what is advertised but as you can see it will need honing and perhaps vating out before being used as a rebuilder.  Therefore it is being sold as 'For Repair' but with my backing that you will receive what I am posting for sale.

This had about 135,000 miles on it when I pulled it.  It was running smooth and is ready to be rebuilt using parts from a cracked or worn out block.

This is too good to go to the scrappers and needs to be owned by someone who can put it back to use.

Shipping on this will be expensive since this must weigh 150 pounds.  This will have to go motor freight so you would need to be able to pick it up from a freight line's dock.  If you live only two or three hundred miles from me I might just deliver this myself.  Or you can come pick it up.

Shipping will be estimated at $400 for the US.  It could be more or less.  I am willing to work with the buyer to send it via a way that is best for them.  I would be happy to find the shipping cost to your location before you bid.

Worldwide shipping is available if you don't mind paying the freight.  If you are outside the US then please request a shipping quote prior to bidding.  The last item like this I shipped overseas went by FedEx standby and was around $800, but again I will work with the buyer to make the shipping cost as low as possible.

Questions and comments are always welcomed.  (If anyone knows the approximate weight of this I would like to hear from you since I don't have a scale big enough to weigh this.)

Bentley gives Continental GT Speed even more power

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

The Bentley Continental GT Speed has never been accused of being a slouch when it came to power, bluntly incorporating the word Speed in its name, but it seems the company's engineers believe there is still room for improvement. And so for 2015 the Bentley Continental GT Speed and Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible will receive a slight bump up in power, and will now offer 626-hp and 607 lb-ft of torque. That's up from 616-hp and 590 lb-ft of torque in the 2014 versions of this 6.0-liter W12 beast.

Chris Economaki was one of the good guys

I'm really going to miss Chris Economaki, who died this morning around midnight, 91 years young. Elsewhere on this site, you'll find writer Leo Levine's excellent tribute to Chris. In it, he pays compliments to Chris such as “he left a hole in the motorsports firmament that can never be filled.
