Condition:Used

I purchased this manual to work on my 230SL to find that it covers more [see text below].  The cover has a few dings from hanging around my garage but the interior is like new-no grease etc.  I don't recall using it much because I had an after market that satisfied my superficial needs. The vehicles covered are:

"This Service Manual refers to the passenger cars built from August, 1959 to December 1967 of the Models 190 c, 190 Dc, 200, 200 D, 220 b, 220 Sb, 220 SEb, 230, 230 S, 230 SL, 250 S, 250 SE, 250 SL, 300 SE, 300 SEb and 300 SEL. It contains pertinent data, dimensions and tolerances as well as special tools for the various individual operations which are listed within the text. The various repair and maintenance procedures outlined herein are procedures designed to be used by trained Mercedes-Benz service and repair station personnel. Supplements as such are no longer available for this manual."

'Paradox' in transport policy claim

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

THERE IS A "paradox at the heart" of the Government's roads programme, a transport policy professor has told MPs. The question on whether traffic levels would increase or decrease in the future was unresolved, University College London emeritus professor of transport policy Phil Goodwin told the House of Commons Transport Committee. The paradox was that if traffic levels increased the planned roads programme was "not big enough to make an improvement", he said.

BMW i3 Range Extender engine adds 10% to the price

BMW i3 Range Extender engine adds 10% to the price The BMW i3 – BMW’s first foray in to a world of electric cars – was officially revealed in July – and due on sale in 2014 – and seems, by electric car standards, to be almost affordable. At a starting price of £30,680 – £25,680 after the taxpayer bribe for EV buyers – it’s no more expensive than other electric cars and does come with some clever technology – and the BMW badge – that will help it move out of showrooms. But as we reported as far back as 2011, the BMW i3 is to get a range-extender option – a small petrol engine that kicks in to recharge the batteries when they get low – which will make the i3 a much more practical proposition.

Who killed Pontiac? Ask Bob Lutz

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

Bob Lutz is not a man who can be contained within 140 characters. This past weekend he spoke at the Petersen as part of the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, hosted by friend of Autoweek George Notaras (past events have been with Ralph Gilles and Derek Jenkins). Lutz talked at length about his childhood in Switzerland, early memories working for Ford and Chrysler, the time he swayed BMW management away from building Mercedes-like luxoboats, and what Lee Iacocca was really like behind closed doors.
