THS IS THE LATER / 108 VERSION WITH THE LARGE YELLOW WIRES that are very visible.
The seal is somewhat pliable and marginally usable for re-installment. It is re-usable with the help of rubber cement and silicone caulking but it is probably better to use a new one.

This came off a California car - a 1971 280SE - so it is virtually rust-free.
This fits and is interchangeable on all mid 1960's & early 70's W 108 & 109 Sedans, including (1965-1967) 250S, SE, 300SEL 3.0 & 2.8 (1968-1971), 280S, SE, SEL,
and 300SEL 3.5, 4.5, 6.3 (1968-1973).

Because of the fragile nature and weight I prefer local pick up.
I can possibly deliver in the Southern California area for gas money (?)
If not local, Shipping quote is just a rough estimate. I HAVE TO SHIP THIS ITEM INSURED.
I need to charge a $50 handling fee to pack and ship this item as that is very time-consuming which will be included in the shipping costs. PLEASE WAIT FOR MY INVOICE before paying.

International bidders: Please ask for shipping quote BEFORE bidding.

Payment due within 7 days.
I have other auctions for many other Mercedes and W107 SL parts for sale.

One Lap of the Web: falling rocks, falling prices, and a Ford Frontenac?

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

-- If this isn't the automotive video of the week, then we don't know what is. A car in Taiwan just barely avoids being crushed by a gigantic boulder, whose water and mud bow wave shoves the car a few feet before the boulder even lands anywhere near the car. Watch the top of the hill at the very start of the video.

Kia four-door sports sedan concept

Fri, 19 Aug 2011

Kia isn't giving much away about its Frankfurt-bound concept car, indeed it hasn't even released its name yet, referring to it as the 'four-door sports sedan concept.' The press release talks of it as 'signalling a distinctive new design direction' for the Korean brand, yet the now-familiar 'tiger-nose' grille and Optima-esque A-pillar/cant rail/C-pillar highlight are very much in evidence. "No matter from which perspective you look at it - this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off," says Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer."I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter." We'll bring you full details (and hopefully a name) from IAA next month. Photo gallery: Kia four-door sports sedan concept
