While Mercedes-Benz Option Codes retained similarity in general, some for long periods , it should be noted that specific production periods/eras incorporated meanings & terminology for some options that changed quite a bit over time.

Therefore, purchase of an "Option Codes" reference list is best if published within a few years after, or at manimum, ~ 10-15 years or less after any production model/series began.
The point is to realized purchasing or depending on "Option Code Data" for passenger cars produced in the sixties & early seventies is best when the list is published in the mid-late seventies, not the 90's or later. There are too many technological terms, phrases and influences effecting code number descriptions differences after 15 or more years.

This List of Codes has been compiled for finding the meaning and description of the Code Numbers, as given on the vehicle data cards, for the relative Special Versions.

The listing is by Code Number, compromising all the code numbers that have been released within the respective production ranges up to the date of relative Special Versions.

It has valuable information allowing collectors, mechanics, technicians, auto show judges, and others to understand exactly what specific attributes each automobile had when it left the factory, based on comparison of any Mercedes passenger car "Data Card" upon which attributes for the specific car are shown on the datacard, by means of the codes described in this list.

Since each automobile left the factory with it's one unique VIN, and also a specific "Data Card" having it's original attributes code numbers punched into it (it was made of metal), it is possible to:

Verify the original condition extent of the vehicle
Repair and re-equip a vehicle to it's original specifications
Find out if the vehicle was an original import to any specific country, or if it was produced in Germany for Germany, and shipped out at a later date (gray market vehicle).

- Being able to answer the above questions can make many thousands of dollars difference in the value of a collector automobile.
- It can also be critical for any enthusiast who is restoring a collectable classic, and desires to do a proper job "by the book".

The new 2013 Vauxhall Cascada – a full size convertible and the modern version of the Astra Twin Top – has been revealed. For some reason best known to Vauxhall, they chose not to debut the Cascada at the Paris Motor Show – perhaps to give the new Adam its moment in the sun – but now we get Vauxhall’s latest model in its revised line-up. The Cascada is a proper full size, four seat convertible – it’s only a couple of inches shorter than a Mercedes E Class Cabriolet – and has its underpinnings based on elements from both the Insignia and Astra and comes with a folding fabric roof instead of the tin-top folding roof in the Twin Top which can be raised and lowered in 17 seconds at speeds of up to 30mph.

The Mi-ray, which takes its name from the Korean for future, is a hybrid sports car that is the first concept car from the Korean arm of GM. Which, considering its name, aptly represents the future of the brand as well as the ‘future of muscle cars.' Said to take influence from past Detroit legends such as the 1963 Monza SS and Corvair Super Spyder, the Mi-ray features a pleathora of sporting influences, making its intentions clear.
