Hyundai to reveal Blue-Will plug-in hybrid at Seoul show

Wed, 25 Mar 2009

By Chris Chilton First Official Pictures 25 March 2009 14:15 Hyundai will reveal the Blue-Will, a dramatically-styled plug-in hybrid coupe, at the 2009 Seoul Motor Show that employs state-of-the-art lithium ion polymer batteries. The Blue-Will concept is powered by a direct injection 1.6-litre petrol mated to a CVT transmission. A battery pack mounted together with the fuel tank under the rear sat ensures cabin and luggage space doesn’t suffer and clever solar cells mounted in the glass roof panel generate power for the battery but don’t limit visibility through the glass pane Although the swoopy bodywork with its mixture of smooth curves and sharp intersecting hint at a future design direction for Hyundai, there are no plans to put the Blue-Will into production.

Volkswagen debuts tuned Jettas for SEMA

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

It's easy to get the impression that SEMA is all about unattainable and outlandish show cars, ones that will never see the street, but in reality there is plenty of iron (or carbon fiber really) from all sides of all ponds that we could see people driving on the street. And just to reinforce that point, Volkswagen has brought a couple of tuned Jettas to SEMA that could almost pass for stock cars. This being SEMA, all that really means is that you're not looking hard enough -- the subtle cars you see are probably sleepers.

New Subaru Impreza finally goes on sale in the UK – price from £17,495

Sat, 22 Mar 2014

The new Subaru Impreza Hatch (pictured) goes on sale in May It’s a bit hard to call the Subara Impreza the ‘new’ Impreza when it’s already three years since it was revealed and more than two years since it went on sale in Japan and the US. But the latest Subaru Impreza is new for the UK as Subaru has decided the Yen has weakened enough since the Impreza’s launch to make it a viable option to import it. Even so, it is a bit of a Hobson’s choice for buyers with just the Impreza Hatch – not the saloon – on offer and only in a single trim level and with a single engine option – the 1.6 litre petrol Boxer engine.
