PLEASE NOTE THE DESIGN OF THIS GENUINE USED BROSE COBURG REGULATOR IS, IN MY OPINION, MUCH MORE STURDY AND LONGER LASTING THAN THE NEWER ALL STEEL DESIGN REGULATORS.

I HAVE DEALT WITH BOTH IN MY OWN MERCEDES CARS OVER THE YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THE CAST ALUMINUM REGULATOR ARMS BENDING OUT OF SHAPE AS THOSE ON THE ALL STEEL DESIGN TEND TO DO.

OWN A 1981 TO 1984 MERCEDES W126 FOUR DOOR SE, SD, OR SEL EQUIPPED WITH THE FACTORY CAST ALUMINUM FRONT WINDOW REGULATORS?

LOOKING FOR A BETTER THAN AVERAGE USED BROSE RIGHT FRONT WINDOW REGULATOR AS A REPLACEMENT?

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS ONE AS YOUR BEST CHOICE.

TO CONFIRM PROPER PLACEMENT OF THIS GENUINE USED BROSE PART ON THE MERCEDES, IMAGINE STANDING BEHIND YOURS.

YOUR RIGHT SIDE IS ALSO THE CAR'S RIGHT SIDE.

SO WITH THAT SAID, THIS REGULATOR FITS THE RIGHT FRONT WINDOW LOCATION OF THE MERCEDES W126 FOUR DOOR MODELS PRODUCED FROM 1981 TO 1984.

THIS REGULATOR OPERATES WITH THE BOSCH 14 TOOTH MOTOR(NOT INCLUDED) PART NUMBER 0130821019.

I REMOVED THIS REGULATOR FROM A WELL CARED FOR 1984 MERCEDES 300SD.

I AM INCLUDING ALL THE MOUNTING BOLTS/NUTS AS PICTURED.

THIS IS A USED PART SO SOME WEAR IS TO BE EXPECTED.

BY THIS I MEAN EVIDENCE OF THE BUMPER BRACE BEING RESET.

IT IS COMMON FOR THE BOLT THAT SECURES THIS BUMPER TO LOOSEN.

ALSO I SEE MINOR WEAR AT THE TVERY IP OF THE ARCH GEAR TEETH.

A CONDITION CREATED BY A LOOSE MOUNTED MOTOR.

DURING THE REGULATOR' S TESTING I OBSERVED THIS HAD NO EFFECT ON THE OPERATION OF THE REGULATOR. EXPLAINED FURTHER BELOW.

THERE IS ALSO EVIDENCE OF GRIME IN THE HARD TO REACH PLACES.

IT IS MY OPINION, BASED ON THE LACK OF ACCUMULATED DUST AND THE NEAR PERFECT CONDITION OF THE ARCH AND SPROCKET GEAR TEETH, THIS REGULATOR WAS A RECENT REPLACEMENT.

PLEASE CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO SEE LARGER MORE DETAILS VIEWS OF THIS AWESOME PART.

IF YOU ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF YOUR MERCEDES W126 FOUR DOOR, I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO CONFIRM YOUR OLD RIGHT FRONT REGULATOR LOOKS JUST LIKE THIS ONE.

A PREVIOUS OWNER MAY HAVE CHANGED OUT THE BULKIER CAST ALUMINUM REGULATOR, SIMILAR TO THIS ONE, FOR AN ALL STEEL REGULATOR.

IF YOUR OLD RIGHT FRONT REGULATOR IS AN ALL STEEL DESIGN, THIS REGULATOR WILL REPLACE IT JUST FINE.

HOWEVER, THE 8 TOOTH MOTOR USED ON THE ALL STEEL DESIGN REGULATOR WILL NOT FIT THIS CAST ALUMINUM DESIGN REGULATOR.

AS SEEN IN THE FIRST PICTURE, I AM ALSO INCLUDING THE SLIDE RAIL GUIDE AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

THIS GUIDE IS TAPED TO THE CENTER OF THE REGULATOR ARMS.

IT APPEARS TO BE IN GREAT CONDITION. NO CRACKS. NO DETERIORATION.

POSSIBLY IT WAS INSTALLED AS NEW SAME TIME AS THE REGULATOR.

I HAVE HAND CLEANED THE OLD GREASE FROM THE GEAR TEETH SO YOU HAVE A CLEAR VIEW OF THEIR ACTUAL CONDITION.

A HARD LESSON YEARS AGO TAUGHT ME BUYING USED AUTO PARTS WITH OLD GREASE STILL CAKED ON COULD HIDE DAMAGE OR WEAR I WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE PASSED UP.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT THE ARCH GEAR TEETH SEEN ON THE RIGHT IN THE THIRD PICTURE, AND AT THE TOP OF THE FIFTH AND SIXTH PICTURES, BEARS THE WEIGHT OF THE WINDOW GLASS WHILE IT IS IN THE UP POSITION.

I HAVE FOUND REGULATOR WEAR HAPPENS HERE MOST OF THE TIME.

WHEN SHOPPING FOR REGULATORS, YOU NEED TO SEE, UP CLOSE, THE CONDITION OF THE ARCH GEAR TEETH.

WHEN THESE TEETH WEAR DOWN, AND THE SPACE BETWEEN THE TEETH WIDENS OVER TIME, ROAD VIBRATION WILL CAUSE THE WINDOW TO BOUNCE.

WEAR ON THE ARCH GEAR TEETH WILL INCREASE AND POSSIBLY TRANSFER TO THE SPROCKET GEAR.

ULTIMATELY THIS WEAR WILL CAUSE THE WINDOW TO BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND BIND.

I MOUNTED A 14 TOOTH BOSCH MOTOR(NOT INCLUDED) TO THIS REGULATOR TO OBSERVE IT'S OPERATION.

I SAW NO EVIDENCE OF SLOPPY MOVEMENT.

I OBSERVED THE TEETH OF THE ARCH GEAR MESHED FULLY WITH THE TEETH OF THE MOTOR.

OVERALL THE TEETH LOOK UNIFORM.

THE SPACES BETWEEN THEM APPEAR EVEN.

THE TEETH ON THE ROUND SPROCKET APPEAR SIMILAR.

NO EVIDENCE OF WEAR THAT WOULD EFFECT THE SMOOTH OPERATION OF THIS REGULATOR'S RANGE OF MOVEMENT.

I SEE NO EVIDENCE OF WEAR ON THE SQUARE REGULATOR GUIDE AS SEEN IN THE TENTH PICTURE.

THE REGULATOR ARM WELD IS STRONG AND SECURE.

PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO PURCHASE.

Ford Escape recall addresses door handle issue

Wed, 14 May 2014

Ford is recalling Escape SUVs from the 2013 and 2014 model years for a problem that can make the doors difficult to close or -- more ominously -- can cause the doors to open while driving. A total of 581,986 SUVs made between October 5, 2013, and April 10, 2014, are affected; Ford blames the recall on assembly misalignment between the exterior door handle and the door outer panel. The danger of this assembly issue involves the possibility of an unbelted passenger falling out of the SUV, though Ford has not indicated that any such incident has occurred.
