Very nice black sunshade, 3rd brake light mount, window frame top mount clip (you choose either sedan rail and clip or coupe rail and clip...I have which ever you need for your w126), set screw, installation screws, complete wire harness and connectors, coin cup and switch from a 300SEL and a brand new guide rail rope from Mercedes that raises the shade when you press the switch. Everything is included that you need to replace your sunshade or retrofit this sunshade into your w126 if yours did not have this option in your gen II.

The condition of this sunshade is very good. I am sure there is some fade from the cover material but there are no rips or other defects in the material. I have removed the old guide rope by powering up the shade so no need to tinker with that. The shade itself is in great condition but needs a little help with the last 5 inches when retracting into the base. I have read on Mercedes forums that you can fix this by adjusting the tension of the roller blind, but I do not want to risk doing anything to it that may harm the overall great condition of this sunshade and will pass it along to you as it is.

Included is the new lifting rope that you will need to install and trim to your car. The rope works both for sedans and coupes and is trimmed to fit.

************Once you hit the buy-it-now button please send me a note to let me know your preference for the rail and mounting bracket (SEL or SEC). This unit can also be retrofitted into a GEN I model with just a few more modifications over what it would take to just swap this one out with your old one.***************************************

Gurney cars lead record list of entries at Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Tue, 16 Mar 2010

The acceptance letters went out this week for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, the vintage racing weekend formerly known as the Monterey Historics, and it looks as if you'll get your money's worth out of this year's event. While previous years usually featured about 400 or so cars, the 2010 running of the renamed Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, managed now by SCRAMP, will feature 520 vintage entries. Leading the pack is what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime collection of 35 cars either designed, built or raced by the great Dan Gurney, this year's honoree.

Bonneville Salt Flats star in new film

Wed, 04 May 2011

Racing fans owe a debt of gratitude to the late Ab Jenkins. The race-car driver and once mayor of Salt Lake City put the Bonneville Salt Flats on the map with the many land-speed records he set there in the 1930s and 40s--some of which remain unbroken. Now, the story of Jenkins and the Salt Flats is being told in a new film, Boys of Bonneville: Racing a Ribbon of Salt.

Fisker Automotive begins hiring blitz

Wed, 22 Jun 2011

Fisker Automotive will hire 120 workers in the coming months to staff the former General Motors factory in Wilmington, Del., that will build Fisker's next plug-in hybrid sedan, due in 2013. Code-named Project Nina, the future car will join the plug-in Karma sedan in Fisker's lineup as the company expands its portfolio of premium hybrid cars. The Karma is launching this year, and production of the future sedan--expected to be priced at about $39,000 after government incentives--would begin late next year.
